Beach walks & splashing about in the waves are my dogs favorite thing in life & if owners are responsible & use poo bags there is no reason not to allow the whole family to enjoy the beach - dogs are FAMILY!

We regularly exercise our dog at Wootton Rec’ and unfortunately, regularly come across dog excrement. I would gladly pay extra council tax to actually fund more dog wardens who wouldn’t have much difficulty, catching the culprits and publicising numerous successful prosecutions. The problem would soon reduce.

This is a ridiculous idea. What about all the responsible dog owners that do pick up after their pets? Also if you ban all these places where should we take our pets?

To ban dogs from beaches completely would be ridiculous. There are already (more than) adequate restrictions during the summer months.

A friend of mine who took his own life 6 months ago today is buried in Northwood cemetery. His mum takes his dog pepper up there all the time to say hello so to ban that is absolutely disgusting so on behalf of her and her family, I'm signing this to support them in taking pepper up to his grave. How dare they stop grieving families taking their dog to see the loved ones gravestone because she ALWAYS cleans up after the dog

I'm very sad to hear this as an animal loving nation?? I visit IOW every year from mainland, I absolutely love Shanklin. The thought of not seeing dogs out and about in these areas will deeply sadden me. A walk along the beach just before spring always brought smiles to my face seeing the dogs enjoying life on the beaches. IOW is not a big place and to think over 40 areas will be banned? This is awful. Please dont do this.

This is utterly ridiculous. If it’s to do with safety you would be better banning stupid inconsiderate people who do not ask the owner before petting a dog.
