Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Instead of a blanket ban how about enforcing the pick up rule for those less responsible?

This is a ridiculous idea, not only for Isle of Wight families who have pets but also for tourists who come to the island with their dog too. Come on Isle of Wight Council wake up!!

Crazy idea that will not only kill tourism / the Islands economy, it will stop a lot of people who walk dogs for exercise getting exercise.

As a responsible dog owner with a home on the island I believe this will affect both the local community and the tourist trade badly. One of the reasons we love the island is because it is so dog friendly and we are not alone in this. I urge the council to reconsider.

This just can't happen its ridiculous!

Visited this year for our hols as a dog friendly place and hoped to go back next year.. will not if they become anti dogs and implement this ban.. a shame the minority spoil it for the many good dog owners..

Stupid idea not only are the Islands residents a huge dog owning public, but people flock here every year to experience a dog friendly holiday I seriously worry about the mentality of those who run our Island And in So many areas

We visit family on the island and frequently walk our dogs on the beaches. This ban would be such a shame for the islanders and put people off visiting the island.

Putting this ban in place could have a serious effect on tourism. It would stop me coming to the island knowing my dogs weren’t welcome

Many responsible dog owners respect these areas. Spend money supporting businesses, pay for parking ect. I don't think dog walkers are the problem that needs looking at.

What about cats? If you ban dogs and not cats it's discrimination. Possibly a hate crime.

Where will I be able to take my dog for a walk? She loves the sea

Please continue to allow Dogs in private places. This ban would be detrimental to tourism and Island residents.

At the end of the day it's the humans that 'can't be bothered to pick up' The same as putting rubbish in bins. More enforcement ,fines, but keep the spaces open

We are visiting the island soon to look for our new home. This decision will seriously compromise our plans. Don’t blame the dogs - target the owners

We are such a dog friendly Island, its a shame to punish responsible dog owners

As long as people clean up after their dog I see no reason for this ban

We had a wonderful holiday in bembridge this year. We wouldn’t have gone to IoW if we hadn’t first ascertained it was a dog- friendly holiday destination. If the dog ban goes ahead you will lose many potential visitors and the tourism industry will suffer at a time when ‘staycations’ are becoming more popular.

Don’t destroy our Island and it’s welcoming dog friendly environment. Have some common sense.
