Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Absolutely ridiculous. What are the council thinking

What a ridiculous proposal!! Many people move to the Island with dogs as there are so many lovely places to walk them. Having a dog is a way of life for many the IW is perfect for it! and lots of cafes etc would suffer if it happens as so many dog walkers use the businesses!

Beyond Belief!!

This is ridiculous, there are already restriction as to where and when owners can take their dogs to the beach. Please do not do This, going to the beach gives my dog so much happiness that is hard to find without him running on sand and sea.

There is nothing much to do on the Isle of Wight as it is, If dogs are now banned from beaches - there really is nothing much left. A beach is a natural area.

Very short sighted policy proposed with no thought by the Council. Better idea is to enforce the existing law of fouling and sue people concerned

Why should well behaved dogs be banned from anywhere... Where does the council suggest they be walked... You'll just end up with an influx of neglected dogs who don't get walked and fat owners who don't get any exercise! And who will find all the dead bodies if you ban dog walkers from all these places! Ban kids instead!

It is about time the council considers what is good for the Island and the needs of the residents and holidaymakers

What we need is more dog wardens patrolling - we all need to be more responsible dog owners

As someone who comes over to the island regularly and is thinking of moving down soon would have to reconsider if we could not walk our dog along the beach, the majority of dog owners are responsible and pick up mess, by all means I agree with the ban on dogs during the holiday season in certain areas but curtailing the use permanently is excessive.

why don't you try enforcing the laws. when was the last time anyone was fined for not cleaning up after their dog.

Responsible dog owners should not suffer because of irresponsible dog owners.

How ridiculous. Where are people supposed to take their dogs if you ban them from such places? It isn’t dogs that are the problems it’s humans!!!

Can’t believe they’d even consider this, how ridiculous!!

I demand the right to walk my dog in public areas, excluding me from those places is against my civil rights. I take my dog to beaches, parks and to the cemetery to visit the grave of our daughter.

I agree that dogs should be controlled in public spaces,,but to ban them is yet another crackpot beauracratic idea developed by people who have no F —— idea

My dogs absolutely love their beach walks, that's the whole benefit of living on our beautiful island!!!
