Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

This is horendous please don't make a mokery of us! Please keep us a dog friendly Island!!

Ridiculous idea....surely our pets are allowed some freedom..will they ban horses from the beaches too????

I am not a dog owner but I love to see dogs on beaches - this would be a real shame.

Dogs need to roam freely to remain healthy physically as well as mentally. Please do not confine them to being on a lead all the time. It may come as a shock but the world is not just for humans and we need to understand how to all live together.

Dogs are better and cause less mess than people.

This would be a terrible shame if it happens.

Wrong idea on all levels

Why are people with dogs being treated as second class citizens? It’s so unfair. Places will soon lose out if dogs are banned because responsible dog owners will not go.

The island is a beautiful friendly place to explore, especially with our 4 legged friends.This idea is not only ridiculous but damaging to residents and tourists alike who visit our isle

You council only needs to take a look at Weymouth Cornwall Kent and many other areas who introduced this we started a sticker scheme in Weymouth because it hit our walkers and businesses so badly we have a dog friendly group in Portsmouth why not join and you can share

There are enough bans on dogs already

I'm sure this will damage tourism and limit the occupants of the IOW, it seems like an ill-thought through plan.

This is ridiculous, where are we supposed to walk our dogs then? They need to run free not always on leads wonder what the RSPCA will have to say?

Please allow our dogs somewhere to walk. I’m all for banning from most beaches in the summer as long as they are allowed the rest of the year

This is crazy. On the whole dog owners are always respectful of the environment and other people. I appreciate that is not always the case however, to ban dogs would be a nightmare. Furthermore, it would impact the tourist trade massively as I know from the B&B I run that many people bring their dogs to the Island for walking holidays and to enjoy our coast.

Peak times on the beach, yes but the remainder of the year, No.

Walking a dog on the beaches that they are currently allowed on is such an exhilarating time....please don't ban them...its one of the reason why we take our winter breaks on the Isle of Wight
