Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

We visit the island throughout the year sometimes with a dog and enjoy the freedom the IOW offers particularly around St Helens Duver one of our favourite places.

Please don’t do this.

Utterly ridiculous!

I’m not a dog owner but I think dogs should be allowed on the beaches. They make far less mess than humans and have as much right to be there as us.

No need for this at all. They have rights to Go to places like we do !!!!

This is totally unnecessary. I can't live in the IOW if my dog is not allowed on the beaches.

I thought this council was supposedly in favour of helping disabled and mental health problems. Well if I can't walk my dog in some of these areas it will certainly affect my well being!

It will be a sad day for me if this happens and tourism on the iske of wight. I dont think i would want to live here anymore if i cant take my dogs for a walk on the beach. Plus many more dogs will probably die in hot cars if people are on holiday. Its a shame a few people are so anti dogs . The worst thing i think on the beach is all the rubbish and pollution left by mankind hot barbeques etc . If this happens it will be a VERY sad day for the isle of wight. So.many people come on holiday here because it is dog friendly ....

It seems the council is trying to destroy our tourist industry, guests choose the island during the winter months because we are dog friendly, and taking taking their four legged friends onto the beach is such a wonderful treat. People love the island because we are relaxed, the more rules the council makes, the less attractive the island will become. Very sad.

We visit the island every year with our dog. It is very expensive to get there in the first place but if we cant go many places then we will just have to go to south wales or Cornwall instead.

As long as dog owners, like myself, pick up the dog poo, what is the problem?

Bad idea to ban dogs, spend the money on free obedience courses instead.

Absolutely ludicrous, our council is a farce! I'd rather let dogs loose in our public spaces than the idiots in our Council who come up with such ridiculous ideas!!!

Dogs are better behaved than many children.

This proposal will strike at the heart of the island community and reduce quality of life in this wonderful place. We are increasingly blighted by a rack of health and mental issues-there s never been more need to enjoy the love and companionship a dog brings, the benefits of exercise for both dog and owner that is beneficial ,not least for others meeting them in public spaces and enjoying how relaxed the atmosphere is !!! I massively oppose this proposal-enough of all this encroachment on the natural areas that were not manmade nor belong to him!!! What rights of removal is this based on? People in a room wielding power? Wake up-you re just one of us and your freedoms too are being eroded!!
