Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

This is completely against the family ideals of the island

Trying to fight obesity. Dog loving island so many holiday resorts dog friendly. What are these people thinking?

We are regular tourists to the island and come here to a large part because it is so dog friendly. Please don’t spoil that

If these restrictions were to take effect I would be personally totally discussed . We live in St Helens . and chose this area to buy a house because it’s a dog friendly. Every morning we get up early and take the dog out for a walk across the Duver. This is a wonderful walk for all the family and the dog gets the exercise he needs. Never have I seen any problems with dogs or their owners at anytime throughout the year. If this was to go ahead it shows a very narrow minded thought process. The IOW need tourists to sustain the local businesses. All our friends that are business owners agree and pride ourselves on being a dog friendly Island. This would effect their business greatly. This needs to be reconsidered.

We must keep the island a place that welcomes dogs

What are the benefits of banning dogs? Get real - and stop introducing bonkers rules.

I strongly oppose this . I've never seen anyone not pick up after thier Dogs the beaches. You need to ban people who leave thier rubbish behind!!

Dogs bring so much happiness to so many owners, please don’t penalise that. The work to be done is to make sure all dog owners walk their dogs responsibly

I have a fog and enjoy walking her on the beach. I always clear up after her.

Ridiculously short sighted by the council.

Dog walkers use the beech all the year around. I is us that picks up everyone else's litter. We report any dangers or damage on the beach. Even in the summer sometimes we are the only people on the beach. Of course there are people who do not pick up behind their dog or keep them under control but also I have seen the mess that some people leave on the beach after a picnic or bbq. Who would clean up after them if us dog walkers are not there.

I was under the impression visitors and families were needed and welcome here on the island for short breaks and holidays and dogs are part of the family I can’t imagine why anyone would want to destroy that it works well so leave matters as they are and concentrate on more important issues on the island that need attending to

This ban is outragous we should be free to let our pet off the lead and where is suitable

As a visitor . I am trying to support the residents on this matter .

Stupid idea to ban dogs freedom

I don’t expect to pay my council Tax and vote councillors in to come up with this rubbish. Please do something more constructive with your time and our money.

This is ridiculous waste of our Council money. DNA samples when dogs are chipped. Put these on National data base. Samples faces taken. Owners found fine sent out. Research has found this stops dog defecating in public places overnight. Not sure how the hunt would like this.
