Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

So many people have dogs! So many people love dogs! What ever is the reason behind this daft proposal? I don't have a dog but protest strongly at this idea.

Barking mad idea. Ridiculous. The majority of holiday visitors bring dogs and local with dogs bring great value to the many pubs and cafes along the beaches etc

We visit the island specifically because it is dog friendly and we are able to do so much there with our children and dogs. If dogs became banned in so many spaces then we would not visit the IOW any more as it will not be suitable. Imagine the island would lose a lot of tourist trade if it does this.

Will make a huge impact as to the visitors to the Island .People love to holiday with there dogs Ban dogs and people will find other places to holiday

We always clear up after our dog wherever we go and he and my whole family particularly love the beach and we a abide by all the rules throughout the year. Please leave things as they are or you will put visitors off from coming to the Isle of Wight. Many lovely pubs accept dogs on the Island but we do need somewhere to walk our dogs ie the beach or park and I never see abandoned dog pooh but always have a spare pooh bag. I see masses of litter, plastic, beer cans & disposable BBQ’s left on the beaches. Most pubs and cafes are dog friendly in the Lake District, Wakes, Devon, Cornwall and other locations, enticing people to go there. Of course one wouldn’t take their dog into a supermarket - the only shop I know if that accepts dogs is Hursts but Why would you need to take your dog there (unless a guide dog) so let’s leave things as they are please and dog walkers will continue picking up their dogs pooh AND other people’s litter as well.

Certainly dog owners who do NOT clean up after themselves need to be heavily fined...but a blanket ban on them is utter lunacy.
Please please please do not make the Island dog-unfriendly!

IOWC are an Utter disgrace. My council tax payments will cease in protest should this ban be implemented !

I agree that this is ridiculous that they want to ban everyone. It’s only a selected few who are doing it. They need to focus on catching and finding out who is doing it and they need to get them to stop. Just banning places isn’t going to help it’s just going to make other places worse.

Being someone who is looking to move over to the Isle of Wight with 2 dogs this is very worrying.
Stronger penalties for badly behaved owners/dogs, yes, but no to any ban.
Please.stop discriminating against dogs & their owners.
