Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Please do not ban walking on beaches . I visit the island so I can take my dog on the beach and swim as swimming is essential for his spine and hip condition.

Human made litter and debris are as problematic as irresponsible dog owners. The only people on beaches on a wild Winter day are dog owner, who are alo tax payers, have children and have as much right to public space as anyone.

Punish bad owners not the responsible ones who clean up behind their dogs

Please do not stop dogs being walked on the beaches and cemeteries, tourists won’t visit and locals will not be able to do what they have for years!!!

Why stop all dogs walking on the beach due to the few who can not be bothered to clear up or take responsibility for their own dog. So totally unfair but what we have come to expect from IOW council

I believe a balance should be maintained. It is understandable that there is a seasonal dog ban on some beaches. Perhaps this could be reconsidered and made a daytime ban. A total ban is too restrictive and unnecessary. What I'd like to see is a big effort from our Island Council, Town and Parish Councils and individuals to put pressure on the minority of dog owners who do not clean up after their dog(s). The effect of banning dogs from a multitude of places is punishing the majority of responsible dog owners (and their dogs) instead of taking steps to catch and punish the irresponsible few. Totally ridiculous ban!

A stupid narrow minded proposal by IWC.

It is not fair on older people who already walk these places who have done all their lives. It is bad for tourism especially out of season. Anything else going to be banned? Fun? Breathing? Children because of a bit of noise? Clapping? All the same these days ban, ban, ban...

Dog walking improves mental and physical health of owners. It is essential to a lot of people. There should be mire access to places not less.

Much better having mobile dog petrol give on spot fines to many business will suffer as people won’t pop in while walking there dog

I as a dog owner actually clean up after my dog, dont punish all dogs and their owners just because a few selected lazy owners dont do what they are ment to do.

I visit iow every year with my 2 dogs. I plan to retire to iow because it is such a dog friendly place. Do not ban dogs from public places!!!

Our dog loves the beach and a little swim when it's warm

This stupid act would impact small businesses and spoil the real enjoyment we get from walking in lovely places. This is punishing everyone because of the acts of a few I suspect...and that’s just bad management. Shame on the iwc for even thinking this up.
