Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Please dont penalise good dog owners,.Wherever you go there are always irresponsible people who dont look after there pets.Keep I.O.W dog friendly.!

Dumb idea

Most dog walkers, clean up after, pick up litter and broken glass on beaches and parks. We also pay for parking and spend money having drinks,ice creams etc. This will not stop the irresponsible people!

How odd when lots of resorts seem to be relaxing their rules

I'm fed up walking with my son and dogs of the leads running at you and jumping when your having a nice walk along a beach or in a park.

Never heard such a ludicrous and selfish suggestion from a civic authority - went over twice this year but wouldn't visit again or consider moving to IoW if this is passed; get a grip, this the 21stC!!

Last year 49% of our holiday guests brought well behaved dogs. With more staycations we believe this year’s figure will have risen. The impact on our lives and those of other people with companion animals will be enormous and will lead to cooped up dogs with inactive and less healthy owners. This is anti dog and predjudicial, children and many adults make far more mess and noise than dogs. The public and legal fight that we will have to engage in will be detrimental to our precious tourist industry which pays your salaries.

Bloody rediculous, fine people that do not pick up there dogs crap, that would be sensible!

Are they going to ban foxes and badgers from parks also? They do more damage than my dog ever has! Unfair to dog owners! Where are we supposed to exercise our dogs then?

This won’t stop me taking my dog to public places. Disgusting Isle of Wight council!

Beaches are a joy for dogs......guessing the majority of owners leave the beach cleaner than most humans ?????

Public spaces are there to be enjoyed by people and their pets.

Words fail me !!!

Dogs add to wellbeing not just for owners but the community. The number of people who stop for a conversation due to my dog and gain from this is uplifting.

They must be bored, pick on the easiest issue to deal with.

Dogs form an important part of many families lives. The majority of caring owners always pick up their dogs poo. This new legislation is unnecessary and restrictive on a large number of Island residents.

Our dogs, and ourselves, love the island please don’t ban them.

Island Roads - not an issue? Chain ferry - not an issue? Care in the community - not an issue? People getting exercise - ban it.
