I have never come across an irresponsible dog owner on the Isle of Wight. I think this ban will hurt the businesses and family time which dog owners enjoy.

What a ridiculous idea this proposed ban is. The island is a haven for dog walkers and is indeed advertised as being a dog friendly destination.

Pathetic council that we live in!

The island is known for being a fabulous place to visit/live with dogs. Not allowing people to visit these iconic places with their dogs will be hugely detrimental for the island and local businesses

People come to the island with their dogs. If this goes ahead we can say goodbye to tourism and jobs will be lost. What a stupid idea

This is madness. When in this day and age we are asked to be more fit and take lots of exercise. Which are do taking my dog for lovely walks on the island. And to be more restricted is silly. It’s not just dog walkers that just have a few people cleaning up after them. What about people leaving their rubbish thrown about all over the place and bbq left on beaches and beer cans by inconsiderate people. So they should be banned on beaches too.

The land and sea is there for all creatures great and small to enjoy. It goes without saying children’s play areas and cemeteries should already be no go areas for all animals. But the rest of the island should be down to the owners discretion. Soon there will be nowhere to walk or take your dog, what with the amount of houses being built on every morsel of land. IOW COUNCIL BE ASHAMED, be very ashamed.

Love the dog friendly IOW. This would ruin families holidays.

It's crazy how they think this is fair on the dogs aswell and the owners there would be less people down the beaches as it's a fab way to get a lovely walk and fresh air

We visit IoW quite often with our dog. Banning dogs would make us think twice about coming back.

Most dog owners are sensible with the pets in public places. Don’t prevent the masses for the mistakes of the few!
