Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

How can local businesses survive without local dog walkers stopping for coffee , lunch . Etc especially in the winter months.

You will Lose a lot of tourist income. Humans leave more rubbish than any animal.

This is the reason we come to IOW so much because of the island being dog friendly

There is no need for this, as a responsible dog mum I clean up after my dog. Most parents don't clean up after their children. This is why we spend so much time on IOW because it's dog friendly

Appalling we need freedom

It would be very wrong to ban dogs from public places. The isle of wight is indeed the dog friendliest place to live and visit. Most dog owner spend a lot of money in these areas which goes to support the local economy.

I can understand children's play area , but otherwise if You're dog is under control and you pick up after it I see no harm .

There is plenty of beaches and common ground(which we pay for in our council taxes) for all of us to use dog owners, horse riders and humans. As long as we pick up after our animals what is the issuue people leave more rubbish than dogs

One of the reasons some people come to the Island on holiday is because it renowned for being so dog friendly. Please think very carefully before taking this idea further. An awful lot of Island businesses will lose money and may even go out of business.

Please don’t penalise all dog owners for the misdemeanours of a few owners who don’t clean up after their dogs. It would be better to enforce dog fouling laws more rigorously. I accept dogs should maybe be banned from cemeteries as it could be disrespectful to other people , and children’s playgrounds should be dog free too, but a wide open beach like Ryde should be accessible at certain times of the year as dog walking is so beneficial for people’s health (mentally and physically) and it is a pleasure to see so many local people enjoying the beach out of season Most people are responsible dog owners there are only a few persistent offenders that should be dealt with by existing laws for not clearing up after their dogs What I found more worrying was seeing council workers spraying weedkiller actually on Appley Beach at the height of summer with children playing on the beach , how can that be right ?
