Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

I have been visiting the island for many years and will soon be moving there. One of the main reasons for this has been the many places I can visit with a dog. I think you will loose a lot of tourism if you ban dogs from public places. One the biggest things you always read in brochures is we are a dog friendly island.

It would stop me from visiting and I love the Island

Our dog and i have been walking along island beaches for 10 years and as a responsible dog owner who always cleans up after our dog.Her last years with us should be no different.

That will have nothing but a negative impact on tourism. The natural follow on from that will be the decline of local business and the economy of the island.

why do local authorities insist on trying to marginalise a huge sector of society. Dogs belong in public spaces as much as any other citizen. So frustrating to hear this sort of thing. IOW council you should be ashamed of yourself.

Stupid idea!

My dogs go to the beach every week and are well behaved. I am well behaved and pick up after them. They have spent 13 years going and we shouldn't be banned.

This can’t happen. The dog is the best friend of human being. We live in an era when we humans behave like animals between each others and our dogs are docile, loving creatures who are keeping us humans sane. Dogs give unconditional love and don’t follow any political path. I want the freedom to go with my dog wherever I want. And WHENEVER I want. Please!

What a liberty , shame you weren't as efficient in getting floating bridge fixed !

This council is going from bad to worse.

Dogs have as much right to beaches etc as we do!!! And 9 out of 10 dog owners r responsible!

This doesn't take into consideration of dogs who are troubled and can't walk along main road/streets and use parks and beaches

Don't punish the majority of dog owners for the actions of a few. It would be like stopping anyone from driving just because of the few who drink drive.

This is totally unfair to dogs and their owners. Cars should be banned first!

Please do not ban dogs from beaches and cemeteries. We have a dog and always respect the current rules when on the island. It will stop a lot of people coming over to the island and enjoying the beautiful walks along the coast on the beach making it seem a very unfriendly place which it really isn’t. Please don’t do this!

I would definitely NOT be taking a holiday to the island should this ban come to light. Would be terrible for local businesses and tourism.

Dog owners do need to be accountable, but banning all dogs in these places goes too far.

Dogs cause less mess than us humans

I love the isle of Wight because it is dog friendly and you don't feel like a criminal when you walk them as it is the case in North West London. Please don't change that.
