Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

This would make a weekend on the Isle of Wight with my dogs impossible. I urge the council to reconsider.

Dogs are part of family life do not try to separate us from each other or the wider public, have a heart, do not forget we dog owners pay council tax to help keep these facilities available for all to enjoy not just a chosen few

Who ever thought of this stupid idea should leave the island and find his own little sad beach elsewhere.

The majority of dog owners are responsible and pick up after their dogs and should not be penalised for the minority. I have owned my latest dog since 2012 and in that entire time have seen a dog warden ONCE! Maybe the council should employ more wardens to police fouling properly and the irresponsible minority would become even smaller! How about volunteer wardens who are dog walkers themselves if the council are reluctant to put their hands in their pockets?!

This is complete nonsense, The IOW council is trying to driving tourists with dogs elsewhere! Responsible dog owners always clean up after their dogs. Beaches belong to everybody even dog owners!

Cannot believe the Council on this, do they not want Holiday Makers with dog's not to come to the Island

Abolish the rule of banning dogs in parks, cemeteries and parks

I can only suppose this has been brought about because of dog fouling. The few who do not pick up after their dogs spoiling it for everyone.

We are known for being dog friendly, this brings tourists to our island. We are a dog loving nation and our dogs deserve the right to run free under control and play especially during the months where they are the only ones playing on the sands

The island is full of dog owners, people come on holiday because it's a dog friendly island, this is maddness

Absolutely obscene. Typical council instead of punishing the few irresponsible owners. Make the responsible owners suffer. The owners who don’t pick up won’t abide by a ban either.

I can think of other things that would improve the Island other than stopping dogs from walking

We come over 2 times per year and love the island for it’s dog friendly ways, it would be very sad to think beach walks might be banned

Ridiculous... I can totally understand the summer ban in certain places but not winter. My dog loves the beach... where will we actually be able to let our dogs go for a much need run unleashed!

Mad. What about the families that leave rubbish on the beach or think that a BBQ buried in the sand is ok to leave ? Stupid idea.

The Island prides itself on being a dog friendly place for tourists, seems the council are trying to bite the hand that feeds us much needed revenue
