So much for our dog friendly island!

This is a disgraceful idea. We are supposed to have a family friendly tourist trade, and for most families that includes their dog. The IOW council seems intent on totally destroying this island in more ways than one.

It's ridiculous to ban dogs when you have drug addicts hanging around parks and beaches, nothing is done about them...they are the anti social behaviour not dogs!

Prosecute the dog owners who give us all a bad name instead of penalising us responsible owners who enjoy the lovely Island without leaving anything behind.

Why should all the dogs be penalized for few irresponsible dog owners. At 1000£ the fool, I dont see why the council can't afford to hire people to watch for fooling if they are so many.

Crazy. The freedom that the island has is part of its magic.

Why oh why is this council hell bent on ruining this Island the majority of dog owners are responding people and they pick up after their dog it is the few that should pay the price there will be no holiday makers with dogs coming to the Island to holiday it seems that this council is making one bad decision after another

Dogs need free running. Without it, stress levels escalate and can lead to them becoming frustrated, aggressive and dangerous. Dogs are a fact of family life in our culture and deserve to have their need for adequate exercise met in open spaces. A ban would be utterly ludicrous.

The reason we go so often to the Isle of Wight is that our dogs love it!

Unbelievable, the Isle of Wight Council is absolutely determined that NOBODY should enjoy themselves on this Island. This is outrageous!

Utter madness, where I live, dogs are not allowed, even visitors dogs, which makes me so mad. I love dogs, they are more friendly than people.

Dumbest council I've ever known. Ever taken a walk through Sandown? You've let it go to the dogs so why not let them walk there? IoW councillors will not get this joke because they are the joke.
