Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

It’s a disgrace to think the IOW council are wasting time with this instead of looking at more important matters!

We moved to the Island a year ago and we just love how welcoming it is for dogs.

There are more unsociable humans then dogs. Ban them from the beach before dogs.

This is a ridiculus ban proposal

Please keep the Island "dog friendly".

I live in cornwall which is so dog friendly! My sister lives on the island and we struggle too much at the moment trying to visit her!

Please dont let this happen

A blanket ban of dogs on beaches seems unreasonable and shortsighted. In the past there have been seasonal requirements to have dogs on leads for some beaches which goes a long way to ensuring that holidaymakers and others can beaches during the warmer months without loose dogs running around. However, many of these families have dogs of their own and come to the Island for their holidays because their dogs are welcome. This policy could therefore have a detrimental impact on tourism. During the winter months, when no one is sitting on the beach, dogs have been allowed the freedom to run - and again people come to the Island specifically because their dogs are welcome. Rarely do I see dog faeces left on the beach so d responsible dog owners should not be penalised by the action of a few.

Were are they supposed to go......and what about tourists who bring there dogs over???? The council is killing this island!!!!

Just come back from Italy where dogs are even allowed in supermarkets!

This will reduce tourism and young people moving to the island. Cornwall doesn’t have the hefty ferry cost and is dog friendly, why come to the island?

Isle of Wight council is broken not a clue

Banning dogs from public spaces on anti social behaviour grounds will do nothing to stop anti social behaviour. The vast majority of dog owners are responsible owners who will ultimately suffer because of a ban. A ban on dogs will not stop the real human nuisance cause of anti social behaviour.

We visit the Isle of Wight every year and it's a beautiful island, I have a dog that I've taken on the beach everytime but I clean up after my dog, so I'm signing this petition because if the council stops dogs on beaches this will stop people bringing there animals and will affect tourism, Sandra fellows

This is a punishment to good dogs, and their owners too, that could lead to dogs being left unattended at home for long periods of time.

This is a disgrace! How about banning the disgusting humans who leave their rubbish on the beach and leave these lovely open spaces for us responsible dog owners to enjoy.
