Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Absolutely ridiculous idea god forbid Isle of Wight councillors if you ever needed an assistant dog to help you with daily life

The fact that dogs are welcome on the island, including, under control on the beaches, is one of the things that attracts so many to our lovely island.

I visit the island frequently throughout the year to see relatives and like to bring my whole family when I can, walking our dog on the islands dog friendly beaches. A dog ban would significantly reduce my ability to do this. If we couldn't walk the dog on beaches I think my wife and daughter would very rarely come with me and as a result, I would come less often as well.

I say ban ALL TOURISTS, then the councillors wouldn't have to earn their money, they could just sit in their ivory tower counting it!

Ban all councillors from the island...sort out St Mary’s Roundabout rubbish first instead of worrying about dog walkers..sick of my tax money being spent by morons

Don't you think that everyone has a right to enjoy our open spaces including dog owners and their pets. An awful lot of people own dogs to give them company and a reason to get out and walk taking valuable exercise and chatting to other people.

It's not the dogs that are a problem.its the careless people that don't clean up after.

It would be a great loss if dogs and their owners can no longer enjoy walks on the beaches in winter. These are a great boost to physical and mental health.

Please do not allow this! the world is for everyone we must learn to share it

dog ban in public spaces??!! Absolutely ridiculous. Who ever thought of this must be mental. Why don't you try stopping all the idiots from leaving their dog mess in public places in the first place.

This is a ridiculous idea to ban dogs from beaches especially in the winter months when local cafe's rely on our passing trade.

Sadly it's the same old story, the minority spoil it for the majority of responsible dog owners. I get very angry when owners don't clear up after their pets or don't use their common sense in public places, which then causes this anti dog problem. Children/adults & dogs should be able to enjoy this beautiful island

People often holiday in their own country so they don't have to subject their animals to kennels.

We come on holiday every year once or twice if unable to walk dog on beach we will have to think if we would come again.

It’s is easy to underestimate the value of owning and walking a dog. Social isolation is reduced, fitness is increased and it is joyful to see dogs, which play such an amazing role in keeping us healthy and safe, get a chance to play and run.

Keep our island dog friendly please

I love travelling to IOW by ferry in the dog friendly lounge, even when I don't have a dog with me!

Dog hating should be a crime, just like racism. Why should well behaved dogs and their pet parents be persecuted for enjoying being out in the World and enjoying nature and life.
