Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

This is a disgrace, dogs are a major part of people’s lives, ban the council for not doing enough to fine the irresponsible owners!!

This is a crazy idea which will have a major impact on health and wellbeing on take regular exercise while walking their dogs. Council please have a rethink and focus your attention on other more important matters.

Some dogs are better behaved than people!

We travel to St. Helen's every year to experience the fabulous walks with our dog on the Duver and the beaches there. To even consider closing these to dogs is unbelievable and so negative and will be so detrimental to that beautiful area.

These are not your spaces... they belong to the public!

My wife, myself and our beloved dog visit the Island frequently. We do however come as a package, if any one of us is not wanted then none of us go. We will simply take our money elsewhere.

Maybe the council should focus on the provision of essential public services.

Sadly full details are only just now creeping out. Full effect may not be so bad, but even so do seem draconian for recreation grounds etc. Those who allow fouling often do it after dark. These restrictions may penalise the wrong owners who are largely responsible

Unbelievable

Having parents on island a frequently visit with my dogs l find this a ludicrous, l am a responsible dog walker and feel persecuted by this silly law

I understand it's sensible to maybe do the same with public parks as you may do with beaches with regards to bans at certain times of the year but to prevent all year with our beaches and parks is just plain pandering to a minority of panic stricken germaphobic parents and people. No body goes to the beach or the patk with young children for a day after September. A short walk maybe and teach the children to look out for things. And let's face it you take your kid/s dog walking in the woods there is just as much a minor risk of them treading in poo. You teach your kids to be mindful of it. Dogs absolutely love the beach it's good for their well being my dogs are so happy to do a beach walk they love AND NEED cooling off on a hot day they love a wind swept wild walk - if you prevented humans from going to the beach or park for their well being, there would be the same up roar. Our beaches and parks are just as important for human wellness as is a dog's wellness. Health, Happiness and Exercise for dogs is equally as important. You tried this last year and you are trying it this year. Education not outright prevention of banning. Quite uneducated behaviour - disgusting to be fair. Responsible dogs and their beloved owners SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED by the minor moronic few.

This council beggars belief!

What on Earth is this council thinking of.Being encouraged to walk in the Fresh air hence exercising ,dog for company ,come on council engage brain.Just a question can you name the councillors who support this .Thank you

I thought the Island wanted to promote itself as dog friendly to attract visitors,surely even this council has sense enough to realize that this is a bad move.Also with the number of dog owners on the Island do they really think they will get elected next time.Wake up and smell the coffee.

Perhaps a compromise is to keep on leads. My dog has been attacked several times on our beaches by irresponsible dog owners

This is absurd. We visit the island because it has always been so dog friendly. If this ban is enforced then the island would loose so many tourists.

I'd like to add a counter proposal, as a cost cutting measure that we ban all IOW Councillors from future council meetings.
