Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Keep the IoW dog friendly

This is, or at least has been, a famously dog friendly island where families bring their dogs so both humans and dogs can enjoy the freedom. Shame on the so called Representatives of the island to even consider such action.

Dogs need to run out. Unfortunately it is the irresponsible few who have spoilt it for others who don’t pick up after their dogs

It is only the few that do not clean up do not put all dog owners in the same boat

Can we also ban people from the beaches as some of them, like irresponsible dog owners, leave mess!

Current local laws are fine and quite sufficient, ensuring tourist beaches are dog free in summer season. IWCC has zero dog wardens so how would they Police this anyway? It’s completely unnecessary

Walking our dogs keep us healthy.

This is yet again an authority dealing with a problem that affects a minority by punishing the majority. Most dog owners are responsible. By putting a ban in place will send a message to the rest of the country that the island is not a welcoming place. This will mean visitors will choose elsewhere for thier holidays and we will never recover. It sends the wrong signals, deal with the issue of bad dog owners in a different way. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Stop wasting our money on these ridiculous proposals spend it enforcing the rules you already have in place. Only a handful of fines a year are made for fouling. The solution is obvious - enforcement! These proposals are a monumental failure of judgement by an out of touch and wholly incompetent Council.

The IOW Council are certainly not dog lovers

Maybe they should also banned people as they leave more litter and mess than dogs.

Keep our spaces open for all to use

We are a tourist family holiday island Peoples holiday with their pets and this proposed action WILL reduce tourism

I thought we were supposed to be a dog friendly Isle to visitors!!

Stop trying to kill this island why oh why do this council want to stop tourists they love bringing their pets over and banning dogs will

One of the reasons we visit the island each year with our family is because of the dog friendly places and because we can bring our two well behaved dogs and plenty of poo bags with us. It the rules changed we would have no option but to holiday elsewhere, for example Camber Sands where we are for half term and where it is dog friendly. We have loved the island and plan to come again in 2020 but this may well change our minds if it goes through

I own a static caravan and visit with two well behaved dogs at least one weekend every month to this beautiful dog friendly island

This is the most stupid proposal I have ever heard. Most people on the island own dogs... There are only so many places on the island you can take dogs for a walk. The sea is a place of positive human well being, and dogs are a huge part of that. Please do not take that away.

There are too many restrictions already - this rule obviously has been made by council officers who don’t own dogs!
