This would ruin walks that many residents and tourists love to do making the area less desirable to be a part of

I think this is ridiculous idea for people who live here all year round,plus it will discourage tourists which will have a detrimental effect on businesses that rely on summer trade.

The Isle of Wight has always been a dog friendly island and this is a vital part of the tourist economy as well as a major incentive to move to the island.

This council take but never give. Leave us the pleasure of walking our dogs in peace. It free and gets people out meeting new and old friends I live on my own and get very lonely this gives me reasons to go out walking which is also good for me. So back off and leave us alone with our dogs. They are killing this island. Please tell all your friends and family to sign this and stop this now

Be sensible IOW Council! If you continue to build on green spaces and fields and ban dogs from public spaces and beaches, where on earth are dog owners supposed to walk their dogs! We, on the Island are mostly massive dog lovers. I presume that the people in the Council making these decisions are not?... Please think of the pet owners and dogs too, then there is the impact on the tourist industry, we are well known for being dog friendly with wonderful dog walking areas. Perhaps if its a poo problem then many more bins should be put out, there really are not enough at all! I sometimes have to carry my dog's poo bag for miles!

We come to the Island every year, one of the great plusses is letting our dog enjoy the beach at St Helens Dover. Please, please don't bring in this ban!!

I agree with No dogs in Playgrounds, Outdoor Gyms n Not on the Beach between 1st May n 30th September. I Object to dogs being On The Lead in Parks n Open Spaces as for dogs living in built up areas this is the only time they can run around off the lead. I also Object to dogs Not Being permitted into a Cemetery. I choose to have a buriel plot in Ventnor Cemetery for my daughter because having a buriel plot in my local church yard doesn't permit dogs. I Agree that dogs in a Cemetery should be kept on a lead out of respect n that is what I see most times but you always get the odd one off the lead n always will. I visit the Cemetery twice a year with my dog n cat, my daughters Birthday n Christmas. Ventnor Town Council choose not to have the Dog Warden Service in its precept. I have yet to see a Dog Warden on patrol in the Town, Park n Beaches. If the proposal goes ahead I will continue to take my Dog n Cat to the Cemetery n pay the fine if I'm caught. But the odds are so very low. How many IWC Staff are employed as Dog Wardens? that can issue these fines? Do Dog Wardens work Weekends /Bank Holidays? I only phoned IWC on Friday 25th October for the Dog Warden Service as found a stray dog at Blackwater Road, Shide about 11.30am. Only to be told the Dog Warden wasn't available n could I look after it?! I live in Ventnor n no couldn't look after it as had animals of my own. Was then asked to take the dog to the RSPCA, Godshill. Luckily I have my own transport. I have always received a very bad service from the Dog Wardens. About 8years ago I made a complaint about the Dog Warden n the service I received from him to the IWC. Things don't seem to have changed. How with few staff are you going to implement these changes? This would be punishing dog owners that clear up & value the IOW, plus the effect on tourism would be enormous.

It is an absolutely ludicrous idea that dogs should have any more restrictions applied to them than there already are.
There is an argument for increased penalties for those owners who do not clean up after their animals, and also for those owners who let dogs off the lead in restricted areas.
Most dog owners are responsible people who have a social and environmental conscience which preclude the necessity for any further restrictions on where these owners with animals should be permitted to go.
