Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

I regularly walk my dog in Totland recreation ground and on Colwell Common. It is good exercise for her to run free in these areas, and it would be a great shame if she was restricted to walking only on the lead. I do not let my dog annoy other people, and always pick-up after her. Often dog walkers are the only other people I see out and about, and if we were all discouraged from using these areas there is a danger that anti-social behaviour would increase.

Keep our beaches and parks dog friendly.

These regulations will not stop irresponsible dog owners.

Leave our beaches dog friendly

This will also affect our Isle of Wight tourism as many come for holidays as they can bring their dogs too.

We visit the island regularly with our dogs because it is such a dog friendly place. Please don't ruin it and force us to go elsewhere!

Dont ban dogs in public spaces

This would be a real shame as so many island residents enjoy taking their dogs to the beach. Why punish so many because of a few selfish people. Better to enforce fines for dog owners who do not abide by the rules.

This is a dire idea and will ruin life for everyone not just dog owners who by nature are responsible

As a dog owner we are responsible and enjoy walking him on beaches. Not sure why dog owners should be penalised!! The mess left on the beaches is not dogs!!

This is ridiculous, beaches are open spaces to be enjoyed by all. Banning dogs will just put all dog walkers onto the roads and stop tourist from visiting.

I’m disabled and rely on my mobility scooter to walk a dog, if I can’t walk a dog in the park shall I drive my mobility scooter down the middle of the main road because this would be the only option you leave disabled people.

This ban is an over-the-top reaction. Responsible dog owners do not allow their animals to annoy other people, and always pick-up after them. Let's see more prosecutions for dog fouling and make the Island a cleaner place for everyone. Ian H

Having walked my dogs for over two years now down at Appley I can honestly say I have only seen ‘left fouling’ on a couple of occasions, even along the pathway at the back of the beach. However, walk around the town, which I never do with dogs, and there is far more ‘mess’ that is just left. Probably more often than not these are people who walk late at night or early morning with their dogs. Why is it always that the majority suffer because of the idiotic few!?

This is a dog friendly Island and it will greatly effect tourism if dogs are banned from many more beaches.

Most of us are responsible dog owners who always pick up poo. I even pick up other peoples if i see it. Shame on them. We advertise fhat the Isle of Wight us a dog friendly island. Our dogs need to be able to run free. Maybe I agree in cemetries they should be on lead

We are known as a dog loving island and these restrictions would detrimental towards this, for residents and visitors alike.

How much do you actually want to screw up tourism on the island because you are doing a really good job come on tourist board do something
