Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

As long as the public are safe and dogs are kept on leads where necessary they should be allowed anywhere.

If it's a friendly dog loving island why stop there rights to have a a lovley stroll along the beach with there owners they love it and so do there owners

It is an absolute disgrace that this notion is even being considered. We are living in an age where mental wellbeing is considered to be a high priority. Exercise, time by the sea/in nature and pet therapy are all said to boost a positive state of mind, so why put a ban in place that prevents people from enjoying a mood boosting dog walk along the beach? Some of these dog walkers will have their only sociable contact during a daily dog walk, they take the same route to see the same people which gives them something to look forward to and boosts their mood. Many dog walkers stop at beachside cafes whilst walking their dogs, I would imagine the threat to these local businesses hasn't even been considered. What is the purpose of this ban? To save money? To protect the hundreds of people sat in their deckchairs on the beach in the middle of December? Why? It shows no consideration of the general public who pay their taxes and use these beaches 365 days of the year, let alone the people who come on dog friendly holidays. Will the council invest in more dog waste bins around the streets, parks and woodland to give dog walkers an opportunity to enjoy a walk elsewhere, or should they just stick to their back gardens? We're supposed to be an animal friendly society! Yet again, another half-brained idea from our "local" Council, well done

Dogs deserve variety in walking locations, let's stop this stupidity.

Please don’t prevent our dogs enjoying our outdoor areas on this dog friendly island. It keeps owners fit and healthy as well and avoids social isolation.

Crazy idea I have 2 big dogs that love to go on walks all over this iland and it helps both me and my husband out in the fresh air and leave our beaches and parks dog friendly
