Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

We’re supposed to be a dog friendly island .

Pet ownership is rising because people like to have pets . Both the pets and their owners enjoy walks in parks , woods and on beaches . Trying to ban that would have no legitimacy and would be widely ignored

Of course banning dogs from all beaches is a very bad idea. If a compromise is needed, maybe revert to the position as it was a few years ago when a limited subset of beaches are dog free in the summer season only, making them baby and toddler friendly?

This is madness to penalise the 99% of dog owners - and dogs - who behave in a considerate way. Dog walking for many is a great way to connect with others, get fresh Air and exercise - and feel part of a community.

Ridiculous idea for those of us who rely on tourism for our revenue.

Worst idea the council has had to date. Not a resident but going to hurt the economy as a result. Lots of people bring their dogs to the island and this is just going to drive them away

Restricting dog walking on the Isle of Wight is a very short sighted plan. Many people including ourselves bring our dogs as the area is so wonderful for the dogs and ourselves to keep fit enjoy the spectacular scenery This would seriously impact visitors to the area. It is also difficult to understand why restrict dogs. Owners are responsible and it is very rare to find poo on the beach Most people on the beaches have dogs and the area is well used. Please do not restrict dogs

We have been coming to the island for thirty years and have always got great pleasure from walking our dogs on the beaches that are permitted to be used by dog owners to have this taken away by the small majority who don't respect other beach users would be a shame.

As long as people clean up after their dogs, what's the problem? This is discriminatory against dog owners. Please sign

Humans make more mess than all domestic animals and wildlife combined. Ban louts from smashing glass and provide harsher penalties for littering instead!

Dogs are part of the culture and outdoor lifestyle the island promotes, they must stay part of it!

More litter than dog poo, are they going to ban people ?

Anyone been to the beach off season? My experience is that you're hard pressed to find someone there who doesn't have a dog. Why ban the majority of the users? It makes no sense and is not good business!

Once again a Council seeks to penalise all dog owners in order to tackle the few irresponsible ones.

Why does our lovely island have a Council that disliked so much by its residents - why, because they do things like this. We want to enjoy our beaches and take our furry friends with us. Who wins if our beaches are empty in the winter?

Keep the Island a dog friendly place. It is the bad dog owners that need to be punished, not the dogs.

You will reduce the visitors to the island if you do this, and what about the dogs on the island? Be sensible
