Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

I understand bans during the summer , but please do not take away our wonderful winter Island beach walks , so important for health and well-being for both dogs and people .

Another thing to put people off coming to the Island. I`m sure local businesses will be pleased to see deserted beaches in the winter ! Who are these dog haters on the council !

The bad owners will do as they always do. This is penalising good owners. Where will all the dogs be able to go. How will it be enforced the council has no money to employ wardens all over the island.

Makes no sense, dogs keep people healthy and happy.

Dogs have owners, are the IOW Council in their right minds?

Please don’t stop our pets from swimming in Seagrove Bay

The council have already done loads of damage to tourism by charging £500 per annum for the removal of waste from very small b and b business ie one bedroom, don't do further damage by banning dogs from beaches and other places

The only things to be banned should be the clueless Isle of Wight Councillors.

Responsible dog owners and local people should not be penalised by this ill thought out potential banning. It would be detrimental to tourism and the local cafes/restaurants on beaches, which rely on dog walkers for essential income. Educate people don’t ban them!

This is the last thing the island needs. We need to be encouraging visitors. There is no way that a single potential visitor to Island has decided not to come because there are dogs allowed. If the message is ‘dogs and their owners not welcome here’ this will harm the local economy.

This will have a detrimental on the island's much-needed tourist industry, as we know many visitors choose to come here because they can bring their dogs. This would seriously affect tourism which is a vital income source for the Isle of Wight. The vast majority of dog owners are responsible, keep their pets under control and clear up after them.

Totally opposed this is draconian

Rubbish left by humans far outweigh the dog mess not cleared up by irresponsible owners

Dogs are wonderful companions to people of all ages, & they need off the lead exercise throughout the year. The majority of dog owners are responsible, they do keep their dogs under control when on & off the lead & are aware of their environment; so this proposal is unnecessary & ill thought out, & is quite rightly extremely unpopular

Thank you for raising this issue and starting the petition. Another short sighted policy which will have a negative impact on our tourist industry.

Humans make far more mess than do dogs, why must these lovely friendly animals always be the scapegoat?

This is ridiculous we are supposed to be a dog friendly island Don’t punish all because a few owners are irresponsible

If this happens I will have no where to go with my dog I suffer with serious anxiety and this will just make it worse

we moved to seaview because of the beach so that we could walk our family pet if we get banded from it we will have to drive inland and that means more co2 in the air not good also the tourist will have the same problem but they will take there hoilidays some where else noy good for the island tuourist trade but we islanders will still have the ban please think again
