Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Let responsible dog owners the freedom to choose where to walk their dogs.

In my view this is an insult to dog owners and will sadly affect the island's life line tourism in a negative way. The island needs to remain dog friendly!

How ridiculous- The Isle of Wight has always been know as Dog Friendly - holiday camps, camping areas, bars, cafes all promote being dog friendly and we get lots of Holiday Makers & Tourists coming to the Island with their dogs because of this. Now that Dave & Co have decided that the Isle of Wight will now be known as an Island which is not dog friendly - our tourist trade is going to suffer as dog owners will now go to alternative destinations, which there are plenty. I thought The Council was trying to promote the Island as the place to come to, not promote the Island as an Anti-Dog Destination.

Many, many people, when we are out with our dog comment on how dog friendly the Island is. For many people travel with their dogs now, so why hit those that not only live locally but all those visitors .

This idea to ban or keep dogs on leads will see lots of dogs dumped because the owners have no where to take them. It will also effect the mental health of owners if they can’t take their dogs to areas of mental health freedom and it will also effect the tourist trade here. Not happy about this!!!!!!

for a dog friendly island where the majority of dog owners are responsible and respectful, have control of their dogs, clear up after their dogs, it is not right that the minority get to ruin it for everyone else. give us dog parks and specific dog only beaches if such a drastic unfair, unfounded plan gets to take place.

We should be able to use our public places with our dogs

Address the REAL antisocial behaviour first - drunks, violence, human littering, vandalism etc There are enough restrictions on dogs already, they should be enforced, before more stringent ones are suggested

Will be a very miserable island if this ban comes in!

I love the isle ov wight because of its dog friendly welcoming places. If this changes we will tour elsewhere

People make more mess and cause more problems than dogs !!!

Utterly ridiculous, do not know what the council are thinking, one if reasons for moving here was dog friendly. I pick up litter because on beach with my dog, ban my dog you are banning me too.

Hopefully Ryde is included as one of the antisocial areas too! As for dogs being banned, give me a bloody break, the overwhelming majority of dog owners are responsible, rather than punish everyone, crack down on the minority who are not.

The beauty of our isle is in our beaches. I would be devastated if I were not able to enjoy them with my dogs anymore. Please re consider this action. I understand the summer time restrictions but to bring this in all year round would be awful.

Drop this pointless piece of legislation.

This is bad for the Isle of Wight. People bring dogs on holiday. And the majority of people have dogs here. They love the beaches.

Why ???

Please do NOT deny our dogs the enjoyment of their freedom off lead!!

With 4 rescue dogs we need to be able to walk them on the beach. We always clean up after our dogs and often clear up litter left by humans!
