How does this fit with the Island's tourism strategy, encouraging healthy living through exercise and tackling exclusion issues by cutting the number of places where dog owners can walk and meet up. So dog owners have to get in their cars to visit a beach where dogs are allowed year-round - now that doesn't help environmental concerns either! Not least wasting £10,000+ in implementation.

Actually thought this was a joke when i read it.
An island that relys on tourism, with those tourists bringing a whole family including dogs with them will no longer visit throughout the year if this is to happen.
We are always walking along the beaches in the winter with our 2 dogs, stopping in cafes and local pubs along the way to warm up.
Lots of custom will be lost to the small business owners that rely on holiday makers and doggy owners.
Just the council trying to ruin a good thing on this island yet again!

I would sell my house and move away from the Isle of Wight if this came to fruition. Ridiculous! Would affect so many beachside businesses who rely on dog walkers.

I disagree with the ban. Dogs are family and also bring tourism to the island as we state we are a family friendly island.

Our dog is very well behaved and swimming is her favourite! We should be known for the Isle of Wight being dog friendly and encouraging tourists not turning them away !

To ban dogs from being off the lead on St Helens Duver is ridiculous and will result in the National Trust losing money from membership of all the dog walkers who regularly use it. Banning dogs on more beaches will have a detrimental effect on tourism. I am shocked by how short sighted this proposal seems to be.

I'm so angry at this proposal it's humans that pollute our land, seas and beaches and yet innocent animals are to suffer.. Isle of wight Council should be spending our money in better ways.

Actually thought this was a joke when i read it.
