Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

My dogs love the beach and all open spaces and are never far from me, they're very friendly towards all people and extremely well behaved, come when called, they go to many events like recently the great south run and behave impeccably considering there young age, why should their freedom be taken from them because of others, I'm not naive that not everyone likes dogs, so I do put them on leads around people I don't know, but surely everyone does this or should do this, so push that, not a total ban

Please don't ban dogs , it's such a fabulous place for holidaymakers to come with their dogs, if they are not able to take their dogs out & about with them they will look for other dog friendly places

I can see from reading the document that the beach ban is more or less the same as the previous one from May to September and the same beaches. My main concern is making places like St Helen's Duver "lead only" I have walked off lead dogs at the Duver for over 50 years. I see wheelchair users exercising their dogs there as it's one of the few accessible places to let their dogs off lead and the majority of peopple you see there all year round are dog walkers. People even book into Nodes point for the specific reason of using the Duver with their dogs during their stay on the Island. Please reconsider the lead only rule.

Stricter laws for people who don’t pick up after their dogs but not a total ban! We visit the island a few times each year with our dog, would have to take our custom elsewhere if she’s not welcome.

Agree with the playground ban, but cemetaries where dogs are inevitably on a lead is just ridiculous and a ban on beaches ( out of tourist season ones) or the ones which are permissible all year round is just ludicrous. Come on IWC, make some sense for a change!

Leave it alone, dogs need exercise and so do people . It's the minority that spoil it for everyone else and soon you won't have any visitors on the iow

There are alot of responible dog owners around and being on the beach i dont experience alot if dig mess only that which is left by people!!!! Cemeteries and kids playgrounds is a different story. Most playgrounds are fenced off so shouldn't really be an issue.

Sledge hammer to crack a nut. The vast majority of dog owners are responsible people and should not be penalised by the small irresponsible minority.

Kids should be band from public places

Humans leave more waste on and around beaches than dogs do! Are IOW council going to ban them?

As a dog walker I always pick up after my own dog. I also pick up after other less responsible, and in the minority, dog owners so that I do not lose the right to walk in nice places. I also pick up litter from beaches and country paths whilst walking my dog there. You would be losing out banning responsible owners who improve the environment in these places.

I'm a dog walker with a local beach just down the road which I use daily perhaps monitor the people who don't clean up after there dogs instead of banning all dogs in general.

Absolutely stupid thing to implement

I have a dog always clean up the mess .I don't know anyone to get a fine for not pick up my dog it's not fair on people do wootton is full of dog mess

Totally ridiculous idea. We moved to St Helens because the Duver was dog friendly.

Ridiculous proposals. Tax payers money would be better spent elsewhere. Will hit tourism.

Outrageous idea.

Our dogs have the same right as we do to go on public areas ! The councils are wankers and this ban will not happen and if it does we will not stop taking our dogs on public area .
