Dogs don’t make the mess it’s bad owners, we always clean up after our fur baby as do most owners, and what about rubbish etc are they going to ban people as well??

Don't ban responsible dog owners walking in public spaces but feel free to enforce rules for unsociable owners/dogs!

One of the reasons we love the Isle of Wight is because it is dog friendly. No need for these petty rules to be enforced.

No dogs allowed on our beaches? How utterly ridiculous.

My son has a service dog and we take her for walks along the beach ect. If banned where are we allowed to take her? Plus a lot of humans make more mess and problems than the dogs.

I have a holiday home in the Isle of Wight, only because dog friendliness, and the beaches, I will be selling up if this comes into play. No point having a house with access to the beach where I can’t take my dog

We are just about to get a dog for our autistic daughter, to give her the confidence to explore these places. This would be such a shame if it comes into force as it limits the outside world to her even more.

Shocking they are even thinking of this! One of the reasons we holiday on I.O.W every year is the fact it is so pet friendly, & everyone is so kind towards them & us. Council has already made things more difficult with closures of wc's all over the Island, now they want to penalise the dogs? For an Island that heavily relies on it's tourism this is complete madness!!

I can understand no dogs during the summer season on tourist beaches but in the winter? Get a grip IWC!

Most dog owners are responsible and clear up after their dogs and keep them on leads near children. Shame the same can't be said for humans who leave their excrement on our local cliff path and downs.

We need open spaces to excercise our dogs

The IOW has long been known as dog friendly, this will affect everyone and the tourist trade.

Ban dogs on beach....you might as well ban tourists. Campsites are full of holiday makers with family pet dogs. Lots of fantastic beaches to visit on mainland and no ferry to pay for. Isle of Wight beaches are full of dirty nappies, broken bottles, needles, tab ends, throw away barbecues and human crap. Far worse than dogs. Why not ban everybody?
