Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Why ban dogs from the Duver ?It is National Trust land so what gives the council the right ?!?!

It is very upsetting to think that my dog will not be able to run free on the beach. Dog walkers will fight this all the way. Are the council going to have 24 hour watch on all beaches! Ridiculous.

This must be stopped. The IoW will lose income, goodwill and its fine reputation if this goes through. It is totally unacceptable to residents and visitors alike.

Unbelievable, so the council are going to spend more money assigning officers to police this . Why not assign officer to deal with the dog owners who create problems, like the ones who dont pick up after them. Dont persecute all decent dog owners

Banning dogs is a short sighted idea, particularly at a time when obesity and mental health issues are at the fore. Dogs are great for mental health and for some people, the only foil to isolation and loneliness and also for fitness. We walk our dogs. This is crazy mentality for the Council - it will destroy the Island.

I always keep my dog in a lead in cemeteries out of respect for the graves. A simple sign to ask for this is all that’s needed. Banning on the beaches is ridiculous, end of.

I own a very nervous dog,the only place he seems to relax is when we visit our local cemetery to visit my parents grave,please do not do this

this is a dog friendly island, lets keep it that way.

I believe banning dogs and their walkers will lead to increased vandalism and desecration of the graves and surrounding area. Make it 'on a lead' always, but not banned all together.

There’ll be a dog march soon I hope!! What has the world come to. The Council need to get on with real issues on the IoW. I’m so sad to see people saying they won’t come here if they can’t use the beaches. It’s had a huge response. The island needs all the help it can get from over the water/locals too. #damnthecouncil

In some areas a cemetery is the only green space accessible to non car owning elderly dog owners. Increase fines for not picking up poo, don’t ban access. Dogs are already banned from most beaches in summer. Allow them to run free on the few that remain dog friendly all year. They are not swimmers beaches.Most owners pickup & the few that don’t will have their sins absolved on the next tide.

Can we stop picnics leaving rubbish horses. Why pick on dogs

This should not happen. It is totally unnecessary now that dog owners are so good at dealing with poop scoopers and disposable bins.

We are currently looking to buy a property and move to the Isle of Wight. We our foster carers and can provide a home for a number of children. We will not move to the island if this ban is enforced. Thanks, Lisa

This is so wrong

Most dog owners are considerate owners. DO NOT punish our dogs for those who are not considerate!!!

I hope everybody signs this. Very uncaring plan and will put people off coming here.
