Many tourists come to the island because it is dog friendly. This is a very short sighted move to restrict where dogs can go, many people will not even enter a place for coffee if they can’t take dog.

This proposal is ridiculous and the rationale flawed. If you want to tackle the issues raised, tackle them specifically. Introducing a wide reaching ban is not the answer and as usual penalising those whom do abide by the law. I think you’re also overlooking the tourism market; tourists bring their dogs with them to our dog friendly island! To even consider such an idea is very short sighted indeed.

We are a dog friendly island and a lot of people bring dogs because they have always been dog friendly this will lose the island revenue plus the money being wasted ti implement this when money is needed for more urgent things. Stop wasting money and listen to the people who live here.

perhaps you should concentrate on banning idiots that leave glass on beaches ? As much as it upsets me if this is imposed I will be heading elsewhere for holidays, and it would stop me moving to the Island.

It's not the dogs who cause the problems, it is negligent owners and in some places lack of bins, but what is worse is the litter left by people, which can be far more dangerous to both human and animals

We have to take our dogs on holiday with us, we choose Lake District this year because they have a dog friendly reputation, I imagine a lot of people do the same for the Isle of Wight. If I couldn't use public areas with my well behaved dogs I would certainly not visit them and take my dogs and money elsewhere.

As ever the majority, who behave well, will be penalised whilst those who don't care enough to act with consideration will do as they want. Impossible to police on council budgets.
