Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

You must be mad to consider this. Surely there are more important things to focus on right now.

Dogs love being with their owners on the beach.. And running in out of the Sea.. Most dog owners will pick up after their dogs. There is more plastic and rubbish left on the beach by humans than ever dog failing.

Ridiculous, dogs are part of many homes here including mine.

Humans make more mess than dogs and i paid a lot of money for my hubby's grave at mount joy so i will continue to take my dog with me there's plenty of wild life up there at night

We already have the dog free beaches during the Summer months. Leave us to enjoy the beaches for the rest of the year with our furry family members!!

We live in North Wales, and one of the reasons we come there, in our tourer every year, is because the island 'appeared' to be friendly to dogs. Will have to travel up the north of UK instead if this comes into force!

This is so ridiculous, I thought it was a hoax. Are you seriously trying to damage tourism even more?

As long as they’re with their owner there is no problem surely?

Please don't bring this into force. Not only will it affect islanders but it will deter dog lovers from coming here on holiday. They'll go somewhere that they feel more welcome.

This is ludicrous! We have enough beach restrictions during the summer months to make more restrictions is unfair and detrimental to our tourist trade

Walking dogs on the beach is so much better/safer than on the roads

Don't be bastards let people and their dogs enjoy the island.

We visit at least three/four times a year for dog shows and holiday stays. We wouldn’t like this activity to stop as we visit the parks, beaches and various other areas on the island. The island is fantastic for being very dog friendly and you’d loose a lot of tourism should you ban the dogs. I strongly feel that the general public with all their rubbish etc should be band from the beaches and parks! Some people treat these areas like their own private waste disposal bin! Shame on the council to be thinking so stupidly !

There are no words??? How can the council do this? The beach is my favourite place to walk my dogs, as I’m sure it is for many other dog owners!!!

Such a riddiculus idea, we have been looking at holidaying on IOW next year... Maybe we will go somewhere else where we and our dog will be more welcome..

This is discrimination. As long as there are plenty of bins for dog waste and fines for those who don't use them I can't see the problem.

This ban is outrageous! I am a dog owner/ lover and like many responsible dog owners pick up after our dogs. It’s the 1% that let everyone else down. Every year there are thousands of holiday makers with dogs that complain about the lack of access to beaches. Don’t do it!

Absolutely ridiculous idea we are a tourist destination for families including thier dogs.

If the ban happens then that would obviously be a big no to visiting the island after doing so for the last 30 years.

I don't live in IOW but have holidayed there several times, I would not visit again if such draconian measures are brought into play.
