Not a resident but a frequent holidaymaker who brings dogs...would have reconsidered visiting if this plan goes ahead

Ridiculous idea. Thus is a holiday island. If you you ban digs from beaches , will you also ban horses?. As there mess is all over the roads and the beaches!!

Walking dogs is not just for the dog but a lifesaver some who suffer with various illnesses and to ban them from these places is unfair and unkind and discriminatory.

I and many others are responsible dog owners. The council will do the IW a great disservice if they bring in this ruling.

Most of us as dog owners actually pick up the rubbish left by families on the beaches - as well as any mess by our dogs. I wonder will this make non-dog owners any more thoughtful? We selected the area carefully before moving here to ensure we had a dog friendly beach ALL year - I sincerely hope this will remain so.

Being such a dog friendly environment is a main reason we moved to this lovely island. To bring this into force would be a travesty and stopping us doing so much.

It is totally unnecessary; the Island is known for its love of dogs!

I’m a regular visitor to the Isle of Wight I’m 50 and have been visiting since the age of 13. I choose to holiday with my dog and is simply go and spend my money elsewhere

Are you crazy , where are we supposed to walk are dogs , most dogs are cleaner then half the people on the island. If you want t band something from the beaches band the crackheads tittering and coursing mischief. Please stop changing rules they are not good rules , we want to make the island better and happier not worse.

I haven't been to the Isle of Wright yet but have been told it's a great place to stay with my dog by more than one person. I'm hoping to go in 2020.

This is another ridiculous decision by the council, it will put people off holidaying on the Isle of Wight!

This is an attack on responsible dog owners. All wrong on the councils part. Shame on them.

What an ill-thought out idea. One of the best things about living and holidaying on the Isle Of Wight is its dog friendliness. I agree there is a problem with dog mess due to a very, very small minority of irresponsible dog owners but punishing the other 99 per cent is not the answer.
