Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Such a shortsighted plan that will damage the economy of the Island, will damage the mental and physical health of so many people who benefit from getting out into nature with their closest companions ( their dogs ). Take that away and the personal cost to individuals and economic costs to the council in lost revenue and increased social care needs will be immense. THINK people...THINK!

It sounds rather dramatic, but if this ban comes into force we will leave the isle of Wight. I'm sure the council wouldn't give a toss though!

Born in Lee on Solent & lived on the IOW & Dogs part of our daily lives & have us much right's to live on this planet & enjoy the coasts & beaches & sea side, who ever dreamt up this ridiculous ban obviously has no idea on all the great contributions dogs make to people's lives & the general community & tourist industry on the IOW... SHAME ON YOU...

This is utterly ludicrous. Ban people from littering, properly enforce owners to pick up after their dogs. Don't penalise those of us who enjoy the freedom and take responsibility.
You do this it will severely affect the quality of my dogs (and others, I'm sure) lives. Being rescue hunting dogs I am limited to walking them on beaches and at the local rec whilst training.

How pathetic is this?? Walking your dog is one of the best forms of exercise whilst getting fresh air. I don't have a dog at the moment but when I did they absolutely loved the beach and were so friendly people loved to meet them in all public spaces. Common sense please!

Dogs should be allowed on different areas. They are more well behaved than children.

Dogs on a lead is fine but to ban them is utterly ridiculous. Humans cause more mess and trouble then animals do.

I meet a lot of tourists who come on holiday with their dogs and they all say what a lovely and wonderful dog friendly place this is. Let’s keep it that way!

The existing rule is fine keeping dogs off selected beaches in high season. I don’t own a dog but can see the value to tourism and the enjoyment which would be lost by so many people if this draconian rule was brought in. I would love to see more enforcement of cleaning up after dogs.
