Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

It's not just the poo factor, dogs off leads in cemeteries also wee against head stones. Not good for those who clean them.If kept on a tight lead that would be ok,not running free.

Please think again. Beaches during summer time , yes but cemeteries absolutely NO. Many people take their remains friend (the dog) to share a moment with their lost loved one, can you refuse to allow this ?

What ridiculous ideas the council come up with. They need to spend more time on issues that really effect our local life. Social welfare and care for the young and elderly. Our dogs are just fine but do need their care and exercise!

Dogs aren't a problem owners are. Enforce bylaws and good practice. Don't punish the majority of people who comply.

I love walking my dog around the cemetery enjoying the wildlife, peace and tranquillity. There are many ancient graves that no-one visits. It's a very large site and I feel that if only a few people visit, it will no longer be a safe place and of course a waste of such a lovely place. My mobility is not good and I really appreciate being able to potter at my own pace and walking as far or little as I'm able on that perticular day.

Just need to make sure there are plenty of dog litter bins so responsible owners can keep areas clean

Absolutely no logos behind this proposal?! I work in cemeteries and meet the loveliest people with dogs...

I am not a dog owner or a particular dog lover but this is ridiculous. There doesn't need to be that much dog free space.

I grew up on the Island of Jersey where dogs are still welcome on beaches in the winter and in the summer in the early mornings and late evenings. It’s part of country life. There are times when they need to be on a lead but a total ban in public places is ridiculous.

There are barely any places now round cowes to let dogs off !! outrageous !!!!

Some of my neighbours regularly walk their dog there, so please don't bring in the ban.

We pride ourselves on being a dog friendly island and we need to keep it that way. No ban on dogs, the council needs to reconsider.

Ban dogs on beaches in summer - agreed, but total ban? NEVER. Provide doggie refuse bins and respect the wishes of their owners.

I can understand not letting dogs on the beach in summer and maybe dogs have to be on a lead in a cemetery but a complete ban ??

The council is just ridiculous on their proposed dog ban, where are we the dog walkers supposed to be able to walk our dogs during the restrictions? Holiday makers will have to keep their dogs at home or in the hotel or campsite while they try and enjoy the island or keep the dogs in very hot cars during the summer.. I understand in a way why because a lot of people don't pick up the mess that dogs make but most do, maybe what they should be saying on certain areas dogs must be kept on a lead not completely banning them..

This may affect tourism as many people travel with dogs. Hope this doesn't come into effect.

Moved here 18 years ago, because of the beaches for our dogs. Yaverland, Seaview and The Duver are favourites with a multitude of dog lovers and tourists come here because of the welcome. The Island will lose money when tourists go elsewhere because of the Dinosaurs who purportedly look after the Island for us.
