Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

All I can say is words fail me.. What a ridiculous idea it's not the dogs that are the problem.

Some people wouldn’t exersize if it wasn’t for their dogs. People leave more mess than dogs do.

It's madness to ban dogs and their owners from public spaces. Why should we responsible dog owners be penalised for having a furry four legged friend.

Dogs should not be banned, they get us out and often our best company.

Absolutely ridiculous preventing elderly people enjoying the walks they love to do. They talk about independence and living longer they just want is coupes you and in a box as quick as they can so they can get their big fat cat salaries

We love coming to the Island with our dog ozzy....4 or 5 times a year....plenty of dig friendly places...please dont jeopardise that.

There is a large dog walking community here on the island. This ban doesn’t make any sense. It’s all about quality of life here, I can only see that dogs and owners will suffer if this ban goes ahead.

It’s not the dogs that leave litter lying everywhere!

Bloody outrageous! Whatever next?! What gives our Council the bloody right? Fuming and would not abide by this stupid, unfair rule if it ever came in! Don’t spoil things for responsible owners! Once again a small minority causes upset for the majority! It would help if more dog waste bins were provided in the first place. (Comment by Beccie Cooke!).

Public spaces are whot they say public, not council,and if they want to be funny public spaces are owned by the queen,not council

Please do not ban dogs from public spaces

Been visiting the Isle of Wight for 26 years and love taking the dogs on the beaches where they are allowed. We are responsible dog owners as well .

I have lived on the IW all my life and we have brought up dogs there for the past 47 years. The island is known for being dog friendly and attracts many tourists because of this. This would be yet another blow to both tourists and islanders. I am compliant with the rules about dogs off certain beaches in the season but do not understand the rationale behind these suggestions and therefore will be protesting along with many others as is necessary.

No. We will have to find a new holiday destination if this happened. Major draw is how dog friendly island although shame some beaches are out of bounds.

This is the most ridiculous ideas this council has ever come up with. It's bad enough for the dogs to be banned off most beaches from May to October never mind all year round. Yes I agree with cemeteries but not public parks too. Get a grip nanny state I.O.W. Council!
