I first visited the Isle of Wight in 1996 and instantly fell in love with the place & the people. Since then, we visit the Island at least once a year, but having just seen the IOW councils plan to ban dogs on beaches all year round I fear we will have to find someone else to go with our 3 dogs if they are no longer welcome.

My wife and I have been coming to the IOW with our dogs two or three times a year since 1996. We harbour hopes of eventually moving to the Island. If this crazy idea of banning dogs on beaches is introduced, we will not be coming back. And I'm sure we won't be alone. The Island tourism trade will suffer, Island businesses will suffer, ferry companies will suffer. Island jobs will be lost. Are the IOW Council really so short sighted?

Have been visiting for over 10 years. Huge draw is island being dog friendly (most places as sadly can be limiting). Would seriously have to think about not visiting if we can't take our dogs.

Disgusting,a lot of Family's and dogs really enjoy the beach, and most peole are responsablewith there dog waste. You would also be taken a lot of custom away from local cafes. Is this because the council want to get rid of the dog bins and do more people out of jobs as well,

Dog walkers help protect environments such as cemetery and parks by preventing or reporting vandalism or anti social behaviour.

We live on an Island that has always been doggy friendly and it brings tourists for that reason. Restrictions already apply t here is no need for more restrictions.
