I cannot see any rationale whatsoever supporting this proposal - the majority of dog owners are responsible enough to both control and pick up after their dogs. The councils energies would be better served to focus its scrutiny on more pressing matters effecting the islands economy, public health and wellbeing.

There are so many dog owners on the Island and beach walking means we populate the cafes and keep local businesses going. We would avoid the beaches and they would lose custom. This morning in the Del Cafe, Appley, practically everyone had a dog. All walked from the beach

Most dogs are part of families, Ban the dogs and you ban the family. Where is the logic in this ban? What message are we sending to our children by doing this.

The IoW Council have got it badly wrong. Most dog owners are responsible and clean up after their dogs. Part of the joy of living here is the freedom that we can give our dogs. The Council need to think again.

This is appalling, maybe they should look at punishing the people that cause the problems and fine them rather than making everyone suffer. I also think this is going to lose a lot of tourism to the island.

Although I am not a dog owner and agree with certain areas being dog free, I do not believe a total ban should be allowed

Total stupidity. The IOW would be ridiculous without the dogs being allowed in public places. One of the reasons people go there

As a responsible dog owner who visits the island at least twice a year, it would spoil our enjoyment if our pet cannot share it.

The dogs I see in public are invariably better behaved than most humans, kids and adults. Banning them would be a great shame.

We moved here because it's dog friendly. We will move away if this happens and shut our business down.

You shouldn't even be thinking about banning dogs from anywhere. Perhaps a few owners. Maybe bring out stronger reinforcements to stop people that don't pick up after their dogs but don't ban the dogs. Most of us dog owners do pick up.
