Simply ridiculous! Not that it will impact me at all - I shall treat any such ban with the contempt it deserves. I am a responsible dog owner - now we could open up the discussion and talk about cats; their unchallenged freedom to roam and the millions of birds they kill each year??

This is a very shortsighted plan and if allowed will impact not only dog owners on the Isle of Wight but visitors wanting to visit the island when it is not dog friendly any more tourists and visitors will find another place to visit . The economic impact on the island potentially could be huge.

Dogs are family and should be out and about not left at home,as long as they are kept under control and owners are responsible for picking up their poo.

With the number of people who own dogs it is ridiculous banning them from public spaces as very often the only people using them are dog walkers.

This is ridiculous, instead of penalising decent dog owners and the dogs how about being stricter and fining those who don’t pick up their dog poo? The signs are up but the council don’t enforce it. We’re supposed to be a pet friendly island too, tourism will be affected. If this is about anti social behaviour then you should be banning children and teenagers too!
