Everyone should be able to share all public spaces! Dogs are family!

This will be another nail in the coffin for tourism and hugely depressing for all of us considerate dog owners.

What will these numpties think of next. As for Wootton Rec my dogs take great pleasure in rolling & eating human excreta in the bushes & rolling in fox poo on football & rugby pitches, yes there is dog poo left by a few owners but should everyone be penalised by the actions of a few. Also poo bins are often overflowing is this due to iow council cutbacks?

This is totally out of order. I am a responsible dog owner and abide by the law so cannot understand your proposal

I am a responsible dog owner who is very saddened by this news. This is supposed to be a dog friendly island and this will also have a huge impact on tourism too

This is ridiculous, where will there be left to walk dogs?

I agree with both anti-social drinking and irresponsible dog owners being tackled. It will be a real shame for responsible dog owners (and dogs) not to be allowed on certain beaches, however. There is already a spring/summer month ban on most beaches and charges for dog fouling so is the actual issue that needs addressing that of having the personnel to police this, or lack of prosecutions? Why would more regulations help when it's clearly anti-social flouting of regulations that is the issue?

In a society that preaches about the importance of exercise and being outside this is utterly obsurd!
