This will not stop the irresponsible dog owners from allowing their dog to foul public spaces.

I have 2 dogs and come from a family that has always had dogs. We often have family days out and picnics with all of our dogs and ensure we clean up afterwards.

We do day trips to the Isle of Wight because of how dog friendly it is. We won’t be able come if it’s no longer dog friendly. Sad times.

Stop this ban of dogs in public spaces as this will be bad for people's mental health and Isle of Wight tourism

I do not understand why you feel that it is acceptable to ban people from taking their dogs to certain public places, including the beaches. You would be better off banning the people who trash the place by leaving their rubbish behind. Dogs cause far less mess than most humans. Shame on you for being so anti dogs. If this ban goes ahead, I will not bother visiting the island again as I will feel very unwelcome as an animal lover

This must be the most ridiculous joke the council can think of, to ban dogs from beaches is, once again, hurting and restricting the freedom of the people of the Isle of Wight, all the time they are bringing in new rules, you can't do this, you can't do that, because a few, and it is a few, people allow their dogs to be antisocial. Catch those people, fine them heavily, leave law abiding citizens alone to enjoy their rights on their beaches. Last weekend I picked up from Yaverland beach, 2 carrier bags of human generated rubbish, plastic bottles from Argentina, umpteen pieces of twine and rope from lobster pots and fishing nets, cans, plastic, glass, so when are they going ban humans?

Dogs off lead are not the problem..... its ALWAYS the owners who havent trained them properly and/or dont supervise them properly. Our well trained dog is never a problem if the lead.
