Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

No further restrictions of dogs on beaches please.

Highly damaging to tourism and plane daft to ban dogs on tidal beaches.

This proposal is outrageous and totally without merit

We need to keep public spaces and beaches open to dogs. I am not a dog owner myself

The current arrangements work very well. Everybody is happy. Please don't waste time changing what works

There are already too many restrictions as to where dogs can and can’t go. What has changed to make this necessary?

If the council policed the beaches better there wouldn’t be a problem with dog owners. A blanket ban is not the answer.

The beaches on the island are stunning and seeing dogs running round is the happiest sight for me and also for my mental health. It would be awful to see the bam come in especially as dog owners are now so diligent about poop scooping.

I strongly object to any ban of dogs on beaches or cemeteries - this is at present a dog friendly Island which encourages tourists to come here - otherwise they will take their dogs and their money elsewhere. Locals also take great pleasure in being able to walk in pleasant surroundings with their dogs and will not appreciate the IW Council denying them this opportunity.

Saying no to dogs on many beaches and other areas is not going to encourage the tourist income that the Island economy needs. Dogs are an important part of many peoples family lives .

Lots of visitors have dogs, too. Officious nonsense!

IOW council as usual doesn’t support tourism how many people will stop coming to the island for holidays as they can’t walk their dogs on the beach

Very stupid idear. Its bad enough in the summer. Just for a few who dont pick up therr dogs mess. Not all like that.

Any ban on digs in cemeteries is unnecessary and overly restrictive on family members visiting graves and on those who appreciate the tranquil environment of places such as Northwood Cemetary. Any restrictions should be on a site by site basis depending on the level of issues in that particular location rather than a lazy catch all approach.

When I heard about this proposal I thought it was an Early April fools joke. I have many friends who come to the island to walk and bring their dogs.This will hit tourism as many will now not come and stay on the mainland. This is so petty minded,you are trying to ruin people’s pleasure time.There is nothing better than walking or running along the beach with your dogs. Please come to your senses,you must have more important things to worry about,or maybe you don’t!!!!!! Christopher

I strongly disagree with the proposal in question

We have a home in Seaview. I am totally opposed to the dog restrictions that have been surprisingly proposed without consideration of the consequences to the freedom enjoyed by the local community, their visitors and tourists. This will have further negative impacts on the local economy and adversely effect the quality of life for many. Presumably this is being proposed by a minority on behalf of a minority and would be a very unpopular and unnecessary enforcement for the majority.
