Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Disgusting - no need to ban dogs from beaches especially in the winter when they’re empty already

playgrounds I can understand, no to the rest!!

We advertise the island as dog friendly this will restrict people from using the island and their rights to go out dog fouling laws already in place are not enforced and would be adequate to stop nuisances

Absolutely no way. That will kill the holiday makers that come here whom all bring their family pets - DOGS!

I like the vast majority of people clean up after my dog, and am totally respectful of other folk!!

Another proposal that benefits no one. The Council should pay more effort into reducing Council Tax rather than concentrate on meaningless legislation.

It appears to me the council always work against the islanders than to make our beautiful island a nicer place to live. Where on earth do these ideas come from? Families should be encouraged to go for walks with family including their dogs.

Why not ban all animals that defacate in public spaces. Hedgehogs, rabbits, foxes, cats, horses etc. No-one picks up after them. Most dog owners do pick up their dog's poo.

Utterly ridiculous idea. Where do you expect dogs to be walked if they'not allowed in public spaces.

I spend lots of time on the beach at Seaview and there are loads of dogs and the beach is exceptionally clean. The dog walkers not only clean up after their own ( and sometimes other dogs) they also collect all manner of other rubbish

This is a ridiculous idea.

Instead of doing this to control irresponsible dogs, please look into the snowflake society that we live in, and ban the irresponsible owners from these public places, that I pay my taxes to maintain. .. Really think long and hard about this terrible idea that you are putting forward... It is the owners NOT the dogs that need addressing here.

This is yet another example of knee jerk politics! When will elected Councils start applying some common sense and a bit of thought to their ideas before trying to bring in ridiculous bans which punish the wrong people, will irreversibly affect tourism and the IOW’s reputation as a go to destination! Put up more CCTV, and get some volunteer dog wardens if that desperate! Plenty of dog owners and non dog owners would be more than happy to help! Numpties!
