Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Ban humans instead, they are far more unhygienic.

We desperately need to boost tourism, not give another reason not to come here. Instead you could invest in people to impose on the spot fines to the irresponsible owners who don't pick up after their digs/do and leave the bagged poop lying around. (Any offenders dogs microchips could be scanned and a photo of the dog taken on the spot, so you will know the owners details and have evidence the dog was there. If they are not microchipped, that's an offence and can be additionally handled with an on the spot fine. If it turns out ownership/address has changed and the chip not updated, when located, the owners can be charged the admin cisrs of locating them plus the fine for not updating. You coukd also hold a database of past fines and unpaid ones so if scanned more than once, it flags up. Perhaps habitual offenders could get fined more? These employees could also do much the same for the humans ruining our beaches with disgarded single use BBQs, bottles, cans, wrappers, etc.... On the spot warnings, fines and taking photos of the offenders and their proof of ID/taking their mobile phone number and network. Impose dogs on leads in some areas, yes (if the dog's too far ahead the owners 'don't see it' ). Invest in more poo bins too, especially on National Trust sites/more open walks e. g. Tennyson Down/Culver Down, etc. Banning us responsible owners for the actions of the minority, who frankly infuriate us too, is wholly unfair and potentially detrimental to our much needed tourist trade.

You can’t ban dogs from public places.My well behaved lab loves the beach and we always walked through the cemetery etc it’s a ridiculous idea

I've been going to the IOW for years with my dogs because it's so dog friendly. You will loose my business for sure and affect many others if this goes ahead.

Ridiculous idea tourism will drop families will no longer visit with their dogs as they are part of the family. Just fine ANY littering by humans and ANY dog mess ...simple. Dogs need holidays too!!!!! The council obviously are not dog owners....

Let dogs run free...take a bag and pick up the rubbish humans leave .and poop a scoop!!!

Empty beaches during the winter months will mean a reduction in money to cafes that rely on more than just holiday traffic. And the isle of wight prides itself on being a dog friendly holiday destination.

People with dogs are just as entitled to go on beaches and in cemeteries to visit their departed loved ones, as long as they clean up after their dog where us the problem. With these bans you are making dog owners second class citizens !!!

This is outrageous and so backwards! Why ban dogs? Maybe put some rules in place but a ban? This is not right.

Humans are responsible for far more pollution and litter than animals ever will be! Seriously your tourist industry will really suffer if the is brought in

Disgusting to think that the council won't listen to the people who matter most. The ones that actually live here and enjoy the beautiful island every day!!

Shame on the council trying to impose more rules. The Magna carta springs to mind here.
