Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

I moved from the mainland to Bembridge with my dog particularly because of the fantastic dog walks etc. My husband and I ALWAYS clean up our dogs mess. I am however sick of picking up litter and broken glass etc left by tourists and irresponsible humans. What is going to be done about that? I guess that will be left for us responsible dog owners to do! (and the kind beach clean people).

Much like the new parking restrictions I might suggest this is being introduced as a revenue stream?... if they can afford to police it

Dogs need to exercise off the lead if it’s a well behaved dog and owner has it under control then there shouldn’t be a problem nothing like punishing innocent dogs due to irresponsible owners sad really

If you ban dogs you should ban kids, as they make more mess.

Why is the council spending time and money on this issue when they don't even empty waste bins? It is PEOPLE who create litter. Solve it with more WASTE BINS!

Access for dogs must continue or tourism will decrease & vital income to our Island will drop

Seriously?! Why is a cash-strapped Council even considering wasting time and money on banning dogs from public spaces?! What a foolish idea! If they can’t uphold/police current rules how would they even start implementing this? We have so many dog-loving Islanders and visitors the council would only be cutting off its nose to smite its face! Roll on the next election.

So many people rely on pets as part of their family this is a nonsense . iOW will loose tourists who go because they can take their dogs .

Dogs on leads enhance life and mental health and should be allowed MORE places

I always clean up after my dog.

Our 2 dogs love a walk down on the beach any mess they make is always picked up, don't understand why the council want to bring in such a ban. They need to concentrate more on getting things right on the island (floating bridge for one) & not making more problems for the island.

This ridiculous ban must be reconsidered. The Island is such a dog friendly location it will affect tourism, local businesses and cost to enforce.

This is a ridiculous idea, and the island will lose a huge amount of tourism!! Elsewhere in the country everywhere is dog friendly! The council needs to follow the rest of the council!
