Most responsible dog owners bag and dispose of dog poo. As in most things its the irresponsible ones that cause the problem. This will kill the Island.

No. Sorry but this is just the nanny state going too far. I'm fed up with dog restrictions and dog ownership being banned from new homes. Why. They improve the environment, they bring out the best in humans, mostly. Maybe some owners need banning but the dogs should stay.

The animals have the right to freedom, same as we do. Another wonderful idea from our amazing council.....well done for the petition.

Please keep the parks and beaches open for digs. My local part is used by more dog walkers than anyone else!

It's the bad dog owners that need to be punished not the good ones who clear up after their dogs, this is ridiculous

We are regular visitors to the IOW (3-4 times a year) and love walking our dogs on the beach. If you ban dogs we will go to North Devin instead!

As a regular visitor to the Bembridge area via boat. If a ban was put in place - especially on The Duvet we would no longer be able visit this lovely island.

Dogs are family as well and they need to have safe spaces to be able to be free and to feel safe in, if your taking it away then you need to designate dog free areas. The Isle of Wight council need to stop watching Orwell’s 1984, it’s a movie not a training manual.

There is no justification for this. It is denying people the right to walk with their dogs in public spaces. People cause more dangerous waste than dogs, so why not ban people? This is burocracy gone mad and a breach of human rights of being able to walk in public areas which we all pay for.

This seems ridiculous, dogs are part of the family and have been proven to improve mental health. Please Rethink this ludicrous proposal Isle of Wight Council

To punish the responsible dog owners because of the few is typical. Some of us collect rubbish off the beaches whilst walking our dogs - punish everyone because of those who leave beer cans, plastic bottles, crisp packets ,etc, etc as well. Let’s have no one on any beach anywhere.

One of the most appealing things about the island for so many visitors is its dog friendliness. This feels like a bureaucratic move by people trying to create jobs for the idle and the clueless.

Why ban a pet from a family environment, you don’t stop horses going on the beach and leaving there mess on the beach. A dog is part of your family a beach is a family environment. Dailies come to the Isle of Wight for a family holiday including their dogs, if they ban the dogs they will be stopping the tourism that is much needed over here, again another Isle of Wight council bright idea, are they being paid for being stupid or what?
