Stop the IOW council bringing in the ban of dogs in public spaces

Please look after your IOW dog owners, they are your public too

Dogs are part of the family and if trained are a pleasure to be with. Please allow them to live a life where they can spend time with there family in public spaces.

We live on the Island to be able to walk our dogs on the beaches. we have never seen anyone not pick up after their dogs, so we can't see any reason to prevent us enjoying our walks with our dogs.

The island is renowned for being family friendly and people’s pet dogs are family so how can they be excluded from any public places. Everyone I know, dog owners or not, love how dogs are welcomed to the island.

It's crazy, it's where people meet socially dogs included.....if the problem is dog fouling then fine the owner...but don't pick on responsible dog owners.....whoever thought of this doesn't like dogs !!

I have been coming to the isle of wight since I was little and spent most holidays on the isle .and I have a dog and I think that this is wrong on many levels as dogs and owners need exercise

Absolutely stupid it's not dogs who need banning

Disgraceful! It is those who don't pick up that is the problem, and limited to a small proportion of dogs. ALL horses are allowed to defecate on roads, paths and beaches - what about them?

Regular visitor to island - existing dog restrictions are enough

I fought this dog ban the last time they tried to propose these measures. Make sure you get the backing of holiday camps in your area as they can swing the balance as the holiday makers love to bring there dogs with them as the island has always been dog friendly.

I'm disabled and find it impossible now to walk my dogs on a lead. But I can load them in the car and let them run free on the fields, beaches and sometimes in the woods. I follow them secure in my walking aid and enjoy seeing their freedom. I'm alone and they are my companions. These restrictions would severely restrict our enjoyment of our lives together. I am totally against these proposals and agree that there are many other areas of community abuse which need tackling first.

I can understand cemeteries and playgrounds but the duver! It's not problem dogs its pig ignorant dog owners that are a problem, people who dont clean up and dont train their dogs or have dogs they cant control .I'm happy to put a harness on in street etc but having a free sniff and a run on a beach is something my dog loves , fair enough dog free areas, maybe some smoke free or swear free or screaming child beaches too , we all like different things, perhaps we could all consider others , whatever our likes and dislikes.

This is absolutely insane !! Totally crazy. Instead of banning dogs, maybe ban the 'chav boy racer' types that park up in car parks in the evening's & leave tons of KFC & McDonald's rubbish all over the place. Ban certain football teams from using a field who leave loads of beer cans, crisp packets, lucozade bottles etc after a match. Ban the homeless from sleeping in a field who go to toilet in the hedges & their beer cans. Ban teens that hang around parks starting bonfires, causing damage to park benchs, snapping tree's & branches and smoking weed. When out with my dog over the Seaclose area I see all this stuff alot, especially in the summer months - what with the nicer evening's they all tend to gather more, where these scumbag skank's have been and it drives me insane. So many more things that have to be looked at to stop from happening in public. This council is full of total imbeciles.

This will severely damage tourism and is cruel to dogs banning them from enjoying open space. Tighten up the rules on dog fouling and punish the few not the many

This ban will deter us from visiting the island.

We as a family visit the island with our dog every year. Dogs are part of the family. If this ban would be put in place there's no way we'd visit again! You don't want over the top restrictions when you're on holiday or anywhere else

this is ridiculous why is there this hatred of dogs they are our best friends we would be lost with out how council shame on you you discust be do something usefull for a change instead of persecuting innocent animals and there pet parents

We holiday here every year because it is know for being a dog island!! The council better think again if they don’t want tourism

another council not representing all the people... plus don't forget the animals have a right to enjoy the parks as much as anybody....!

Have the council initiated this or is it some stupid anti-dog resident? Let us all go for 10000 signatures and have a public meeting and debate the issue.
