To lower the speed limit on New Road and Beech Road

Only a couple of weeks ago a young girl was clipped off the pavement! The road is too narrow and needs be have the speed limit reduced.

I am glad that someone is doing something to try and fix this

I agree with this petition to lower the speed limit near the malling secondary school

I agree with the lower speed limits .but other problems need addressing..ie..school staff using in gate as out gate when driving..the parents of the children who attend busy bees need to slow down when they collect three children.. and commercial vehicles need restricted parking on Beech road

Well done on fighting for this. I walk everywhere as I don't drive. So trying to cross New road is like taking your life into your hands.

Many residents in Mill Street too would also like limits lowered and traffic calming measures introdeuced

I have worked at TMS for many years and I have witnessed many near misses where students have almost been run over when trying to cross New Road on foot, or cycling to school. The speed limit is too high and not every motorist sticks to it. If anyone is hit at a speed in excess of 40 mph, it is unlikely they would survive. Our pupils and local community need to be safe and lowering the speed limit would go a long way to ensuring this happens. Please sign the petition, it may save a life.

I live nearby and have seen New Road become much busier in recent years with too many speeding drivers. I would like to see the limit reduced to 30mph and think a further reduction to 20mph limit should also be considered near to the Beech Road junction. Beech Road itself should have a 20mph limit. Well done for raising the issue.

Very busy roads with lots of pedestrians crossing definitely needs lower speed limits

I do agree that the speed limit on all roads near schools should be reduced. The 30mph on New Road and especially the 40mph on Beech Road should be drastically reduced to allow school children and others to cross safely.

I drive along New Road every day. A speed reduction is long over-due.

I have seen the speed of many of the drivers up Bew Road and Beech Road and with 3 children who like to cycle in the area I feel it is imperative that the speed be lowered.

For children's safety this is really important.
