To lower the speed limit on New Road and Beech Road

I am in full support of reducing the speed limit on both roads to reduce the likelihood of serious accidents occurring. In view of the fact that East Malling research have submitted plans for houses parallel to New Road it would make sense for the entrance to the new development to be opposite either Beech Road or Chapman Way. This junction could then be controlled by lights allowing for safe pedestrian crossing. This could be financed by an S106 on any new development.

Yes I agree with lowering the speed limits but still think 20mph along beech road is too fast. Its built up area of houses.

Roads around schools should definitely have reduced speed limits to protect pupils and staff.

My sons and daughter attend The malling school and I’m always worrying about them crossing this dangerous road to and from school! A crossing for the children is a must for this road!!

This is an accident black spot with two children being run over recently on New road and beech rd. There are over 850 children using these roads with no safe place to cross a 40mph road! It’s disgusting do we have to wait until a child is killed before something is done!!!

Too many accidents have happened.

I went to The Malling School for 5 years and always thought the roads around the school where sometimes dangerous and worrying, especially for the younger years who might not fully understand the dangers

I agree with the suggested speed limits 40mph and 30 mph on those roads is too high and dangerous when children are walking or cycling to school. Motorists far exceed 40 mph on New Road!
