Hello My Friend Cafe was a great part of my law school experience, and whenever I return for meetings in the Law Centre, Steve keeps me updated about changes. He provides a very important connection for alumni.

Steve and Hello My Friend are more valuable to the law school than the library, the stairs, and electricity combined!

Steve is a valuable member of the law school community. His voice in all this needs to be heard. I ask the Faculty/UofA to please fully consult with him before making any final decisions.

Steve's Cafe is the heart of our law school community. If we take seriously the idea of creating powerfully enriching communities of learning, we need people like Steve and places like his Cafe. It matters.

Steve and his business are one of my favourite parts of law school. To not renew his lease is to do the entire law school a disservice.

Hello My Friend Cafe kept me as sane as possible during law school. What a disrespectful way to treat a long-standing business with actual ties/relationships with the faculty and its students!

Life in law school is hard enough and Steve represents the few things that makes the harship somewhat enjoyable. Do not make us more miserable than we already are. Steve ought to stay.

I have turned to Steve for support countless times in the last two years. He plays a pivotal role because he is not a professor or student but he is still a member of our community and understands what we are going through. This makes him a perfect person to express worries or any feeling to. Steve provides a caring, welcoming atmosphere at the faculty that I haven't experienced from any other source. Without him, I will have significantly less ways to cope with my stress.

hello my friend is a pillar of the law school experience at the U of A. Steve and his cafe are a supportive and welcoming environment in an often demanding academic setting. If this space is repurposed into a franchise or will be a further sign of the corporatization of academia at the expense of community.

Steve has made contributions to the law center and the law school that are beyond any quantifiable measure. Just yesterday, someone said "Steve is mental health" for law students. He has given so much and has been so gracious, I cannot imagine the law center without Hello My Friend Cafe. Steve NEEDS TO STAY WITH THE LAW CENTER. University of Alberta central may not understand just how significant Hello My Friend's Cafe is, but law students do! Please keep this cafe and show us that students' views and valuations matter!

I am very upset to hear that Hello My Friend Cafe will not be having its lease renewed. Steve's Cafe is integral part of law school and I will be very upset if it is forced to close. I will not under any circumstance use its replacement if it is forced to close. Please reconsider you decision and renew Steve's lease.

Vice-Dean Yahya gave a talk this year in Foundations about the importance of helping our fellow lawyers when they need help. Steve gives his entire heart into helping law students and cannot be tossed aside. Maybe the space needs revamp - fine. Find Steve a new spot in the law building. Period.
