I support the renewal of the Lease at Hello My Friend Cafe, and view the U of A's failure to address Steve's lease in a positive manner to undermine my relationship with the school as an alumnus.

The way that the faculty appears to have treated Steve is absolutely disgraceful. If this is about money, they should consider the very large number of future donors that they're displeasing.

I can attest to Steve's importance to drama students too. We trekked to Steve's after almost every class.

As an alumni I am disappointed with the University. Hello My Friend was always a positive fixture with Steve's stellar personality.

really surprised to hear about this. Steve is a real contributor to the law school community. It would be a shame to lose him and the cafe.

I am graduate UofA Drama (BFA, MFA) and I'm shocked this Cafe is closing. This cade was the best place to get coffe, have a meeting, see a friendly face or sit quietly for a bit on campus.

Steve's cafe is a part of the university community and should be preserved! He is not just a cafe but a personality and a wonderful part of the university experience. Please rethink the decision to not renew his lease.

Steve is a wonderful guy and has made himself an institution at the Law Centre. The U of A should consider the real meaning of the word "community". At the very least, it would have been the moral thing to do to provide him meaningful notice immediately upon considering to repurpose the space, as well as to notify him immediately upon the decision being made.

Steve is a delight and an integral part of the law students' daily lives at the Faculty of Law. I hope the University reconsiders.

I was a daily customer of Steve's during my three years at U of A (completing a BFA in the Fine Arts Building next door). He created a sense of community that was invaluable to my experience of the university. A "re-purposing" would be a great loss to us all and to future students!
Keep Steve!!
Shame on you, University of Alberta.
You're the best, steve!
