Very little of the population goes to the high school football games or cares. Plus trick or treating is mainly for younger kids that would love to celebrate later since they won’t have school on Saturday. Don’t take that away from the kids because others choose to play a sport.

I think it’s silly to switch trick or treat due to a possible playoff game that may or may not be in Avon. Football dominates this city too much. I am a fan of the football team, but it is on a pedestal here in Avon.

October 31 IS Halloween. Trick or Treat hours are over at a time not interfering with bedtime for adequate rest. I can think of no reasonable reason to deny this petition.

Celebrating Halloween on October 31 is rooted in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. This date was significant as it marked the end of the harvest and the start of winter, a time believed to blur the boundary between the living and the dead. The holiday's importance stems from its historical origins in honoring the dead, warding off spirits, and marking the transition between seasons, which evolved into today's playful traditions of costumes and trick-or-treating. from google
